Evaluation Q6
An important skill I have learnt throughout this project is the skill of social networking. Having an online presence is really important throughout the planning, production and feedback stages of creating my music magazine, as it is the quickest way to find out things such as what my target audience want, if my ideas work well and if there's anything that needs to be changed. Social networking sites like YouTube and Facebook can easily make things go viral, meaning it would be seen by a huge audience. I used the blogging site Tumblr to gain audience feedback as the people following my blog are the closest to my target audience of punk rock music listeners. If I was creating Download as an actual magazine I would definitely incorporate sites like YouTube, Facebook and Twitter to spread the word of Download. This is an extremely useful tool as it's a way of distributing my product without spending any money on advertisements.
Evaluation Q4 & 5
I used Tumblr to find potential buyers of my magazine, by asking them to like or reblog my front cover. Within half an hour it had 12 notes, meaning 12 people had seen it and would buy it. Tumblr is a good site to use for audience feedback as it contains the audience I am aiming Download magazine at. By using the tagging feature, I tagged my magazine front cover with the bands featured on there, meaning people who follow the tags of certain bands would see my magazine.
I also received this feedback from a blogger and potential buyer:
Tumblr can be a very influential site, so when distributing my magazine I would look into using it in some way to get the word of Download out there, to address my target audience.

To test this, I took a photo of my front cover next to various other magazines:
I think it looks similar enough to be sold as a music magazine, but different enough to stand out and appeal to my audience. I think this is because of the use of bright colours and an eye catching photograph of the band, making people notice it and want to read it.
